Market Development Division (MDD):
DSE was demutualized on 21 Nov 2013. As part of demutualization process DSE has formed a new division named Market Development Division (MDD) for evaluating, developing and implementing strategic initiatives critical to the long term growth of DSE. However, the objective of the division is to develop the capital market of Bangladesh in terms of product offerings, advancement of listings procedures, facilitate efficient market operations, certain fair play amongst market participants and to convert OTC market into viable alternative market place for small and medium promising companies.

DSE always remains focused on adopting and executing long-term strategy taking into account market demands and situations. PMDD develops business plan for new markets, products and services considering local market as well as global market. This department also promotes listing with DSE and OTC Market to eligible local and foreign companies/parties.
Emerging markets are mostly looking into data vending and investor led research solutions. To succeed in the market place, Investors need access to the accurate and timely information available. With technology and resources, Research and Information department of DSE is working towards as comprehensive and ultimate source to deliver a wider range of information and data of listed companies including financial statements, historical and real-time trading data, shareholders and board of directors information, corporate actions, Research Reports, Periodic Market Statistics, Periodic Economic Statistics, Sector Reports, index data, etc. to local and foreign investors, Investment advisors, educational institutes and capital market data providers who would like to access and disseminate trading or listed company information either with commercial or non-commercial purpose.
Market Operations Department is working towards adopting standards for corporate announcements for listed companies which can be processed electronically and will facilitate more investment flow from the NRB and foreign investor community. Market Operations department is also developing a framework for issuers to discharge their obligation for timely dissemination of quality and relevant information to investors.
Dhaka Stock Exchange Ltd. (DSE) operates an Over-The-Counter (OTC) trading platform that was formed in 2009. This market was created to with an initial objective to facilitate trading of shares of delisted securities. Trading of the OTC market is seller driven and buyers can only place matching buy order without any options for placing negotiating orders. Existing framework allows trading facility to any delisted or unlisted company meeting the criteria set forth in the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (Over-the-Counter) Rules, 2001. DSE envisages a vibrant Alternative Market by the end of 2016 in collaboration with various stakeholders under the guidance of BSEC
