A workshop titled Reading and Understanding Financial Statements in line with International Accounting Standards'(IAS),arranged by Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) was held on May 10,2006. Senior officials of DSE Member Houses, Issue managers and merchant bankers attended the workshop held at the Board Room in the stock exchange. DSE President Mr. Abdullah Bokhari inaugurated the programme. Mr Bokhari said the workshop was very timely and important considering the international standard of accounting practices. Senior Vice President Mr Ahmad Rashid was also present. DSE CEO Mr Salahuddin Ahmed Khan welcomed the workshop participants. The topics like financial statements, components of financial statements, compliance with IFRSs, accrual basis accounting, structure and contents of financial statements, balance sheet, cash flow statement etc were thoroughly discussed in the workshop. President of Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and Director of DSE Mr Satipati Moitra conducted the course.
